Meet some of our London2Paris riders!

The countdown is on to May 2019, when 25 cyclists and 7 support team members make their way from London to Paris in the Keframa School Build Charity Bike Ride which sets out what the charity bike ride is). Alongside the team dedicating their spare time to training in the gym and out on the roads, the fundraising phase is in full motion!

On Friday 17th May 2019 at 10:00 GBT, 25 daring participants will be setting off on their bikes from London to Paris as part of the Keframa School Build Charity Bike Ride – an event that is being organised in support of the Keframa school build project. The event looks to support the fundraising to build the next phase of the school for over 500 children in Northern Uganda.

We recently reached out to three of the cyclists signed up for this amazing challenge on the reasons why they are dedicating themselves to such an inspiring and powerful cause.

Below, three of our riders have given us a peak behind the curtain of the reasons why they are going the extra mile for the Keframa School Build:

“Having spent the last year running fundraising events for the school build, the London2Paris bike ride was a no brainer. It’s going to be a huge challenge for me both organising the ride and participating in it as a cyclist, but one that will be so worthwhile. I’m excited to visit the school in 2020 and see how this fantastic educational facility is building a better future for the children.”

“We all have a part to play when it comes to building the future for the younger generation. Education is the key to unlocking the full potential of every individual and everyone deserves to be able to have access to it. I want to be able to contribute to making children believe that the sky is the limit and education is the first step in starting this amazing journey. It is imperative that we all work together towards making this dream possible.”

– Faizal Ansarey

“It’s easy to take education for granted in the UK as there are an abundance of schools, colleges and universities with access to books, trained teachers and facilities. I want to take part in the ride because this isn’t the case everywhere else in the world, and the money raised by Atos and the team can be used to make a difference to educating the local community in Keframa. I think everyone should have access to education and I am grateful for the opportunity to help achieve this in another part of the world. As for the journey to Paris, sport has always been a big part of my life and I love challenging my body and my mind in new and different ways. Although I know it won’t be easy, I can’t wait to get out there and start riding!”
